Football Season is officially here. But this year, tailgating is going to look a lot different. Instead of crowding in parking lots and fields near the stadium, we’ll all be staying closer to home. That doesn’t mean you can’t still fire up the grill, break out the dip, and drink Buffalo craft beer in your own backyard.

Here’s a list of Buffalo beer that pairs well for Sunday Game Day:

The Pregame

No tailgate is complete without chips and dip. Our pregame spread ranges from taco dip, spinach and artichoke dip, and of course chicken wing dip. With so many flavors in the mix, you need a beverage that will pair well with each. Plus, it’s still early, so we need to pace ourselves with just the right ABV’s. So, we’re looking at light lagers, a kölsch and a cider.

Buffalocal Picks: Community Beer Works’ Let’s Go Pils, 42 North Brewing Co’s Craftsman Lager, 12 Gates Table Smasher Honey Kölsch, BlackBird Cider Works Estate Reserve Cider

Game Time

We don’t care what anyone says, chicken wings count as a whole meal, especially on Game Day.

When it comes to wings, the spicier the better. That’s why we pair our hot wings with an IPA. This pairing enhances the heat with each bite and sip. This month, Resurgence Brewing Co. will be releasing Circle the Wagons, a Buffalo-style IPA perfect for Bills games.

Buffalocal Picks: Resurgence Brewing Co.’s Circle the Wagons IPA, Flying Bison Brewing Co.’s All America City IPA, Pressure Drop Brewing’s Sticky Trees

Postgame

Our postgame eats are as sweet as a Buffalo victory. That’s why we like to pair them with a bolder beer like a stout. Depending on your preference, you might like a roasty coffee stout, or something sweeter like a pastry stout. Our cooler will include locally brewed stouts.

Buffalocal Picks: Big Ditch Brewing Company’s Make Me Wanna Stout, Southern Tier Brewing Co.’s 2XSTOUT
