Our Local Craft IPAs
Buffalocal’s mission is to ensure that consumers are getting the freshest local beers—and Buffalo’s local breweries strive to provide every type of IPA possible to the community.
A type of light-colored beer similar to bitters, typically with a higher than average alcohol and hop content, India Pale Ales (IPAs) come in many varieties:
- Imperial IPAs usually use double or even triple the typical amount of hops, but also add more malts to balance, resulting in a beer with huge hoppy highs and deep malty depths, and a high ABV to match.
- New England-style IPAs are a type of American IPA that feature an intense, tropical fruit-centric hop aroma and flavor, heavily dry-hopped to the point of being hazy, with a fuller body, smoother flavor, and less perceived bitterness than typical IPAs.
- Session IPAs combine the hoppiness of an IPA with the lower alcohol content of a session beer.
